Tahiti (page 1)
The day after the wedding, we took off for French Polynesia. Our first stop was just overnight on the island of Tahiti. Tahiti is the main island for commerce and international flights - the flight from LA is about 7 1/2 hours. Tahiti is located in the South Pacific. Tahiti itself is a fairly commercial island (especially the limited bit we saw between the airport and hotel); we didn't see much since we spent just one night on Tahiti before moving to other islands. The trip was amazing; we highly recommend it!
We arrived in Tahiti at night - exhaustion and darkness prevented us from seeing much. But, imagine our joy when we opened the drapes over our patio door and saw this view!
We couldn't resist taking a few photos -- not the best pics of us ever, but the surroundings are amazing!
We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel on Tahiti - and again, we didn't see much of it, but this was the view from the open-air reception area, over the roof of the breakfast area, beyond the pool, to the Island of Moorea (our next stop).
