P.S.

Heck yeah we went to Chuy's on the way home from the airport. Bora Bora's great, but there's no Tex Mex to be had there. They don't even have Dr. Pepper!

Please pray for the good people of French Polynesia. ;-)

Home

We got home from the honeymoon today. An amazing trip, and we'll try to get some pictures up here pronto to give everybody a look at the places we visited. Of course, now the real work of starting life together starts. There is still plenty to do to organize the house, as well as to move Becky in.

But before all that, a quick note to say thank you. Becky and I were so thrilled to see so many of you at the wedding, and even more of you sent kind regards. I found myself looking around the room and wondering: "What did I do to deserve such a great group of friends?" I believe that one of the greatest compliments anyone can receive in life is the sincere friendship of good people. Last Friday, you all paid us one of the greatest honors that we may receive in our lifetimes. And don't get me started about all of the family members who travelled so far to be with us!

We were both utterly overjoyed and deeply humbled to be able to celebrate with all of you. Thanks everybody.

We're In Bora Bora!

The wedding was so much fun for all of us -- we hope you enjoyed it too. We're now on our honeymoon in French Polynesia. The hotel has internet access, so I thought I'd post quickly -- we're in Bora Bora!! It's absolutely beautiful. I highly encourage all of you to come here, providing, of course, that you bring Matt & I as your tour guides! :)

Today, we're doing a 4x4 tour around the island. Yesterday, we swam with sting rays and sharks! Yes, we *both* got in the water with the sharks. They don't let you touch the sharks, but we did touch the sting rays. It was a great day (other than the spf 45 sunblock wearing off...)

The islands are amazing -- the water in the lagoon is so clear - colors vary from turquoise to dark blue. We'll post pics somewhere on the site when we return, though photos don't begin to capture the beauty of this place.

Contacting Becky

In general, it may be hard to reach me this week. My hard drive at home crashed on Friday night, so there's no email or computer access in my apartment from now on. I'm also busy finishing up projects at work and working on last details for the wedding.

If you need to contact me via email, use becky.white@gmail.com. I can't get into the old addresses (and I've been trying to phase them out anyhow). (of course-- if you're trying to contact me about work-related stuff, the gateway address is *always* the one to use)

Other than the computer glitch, we're doing well on the preparations for the wedding. We're setting chair & table layout, doing final shopping, etc.

Please don't forget that the wedding is FRIDAY night at 7pm at Star Hill Ranch off 71 & Hamilton Pool Road. We look forward to seeing you there.

Becky

More Austin Weather

I know some of our out-of-town guests are starting to think about packing, so here's a note about what the weather's supposed to be like.

First, here is the best Austin weather link I know of. It's our local news-only station's weather page. I find it more accurate than the weather channel or other competitors.

Currently, the forecast for the wedding day looks really, really good. It's hot and muggy right now, with low clouds in the morning giving way to sun in the afternoons with highs in the 90s. Ick. But, around Wednesday, a cold front should push its way through the area, bringing temperatures and humidity down. The current forecast is for sunny, dry days and cool nights. The predicted high for Friday is sunny and 79 degrees, with a low of 55 in the evening. The rest of the weekend is supposed to be pretty similar, with chamber-of-commerce weather while y'all are visiting.

I'll take that if I can get it.
