Baby Gift Sewing

I have several friends who are pregnant, so I think I can blog about this without giving away who it is for. At least I hope that the mom-to-be will act appropriately surprised when she opens it. I was too excited not to blog about it!

I whipped up a matching set of various items for this mom-to-be, as shown here:

In the photo:

  • Nursing cover (roughly inspired by several patterns online, which has boning at the top to make it stiff. I’d never used boning before. It wasn’t too hard.)
  • Bag (from Target) — reusable gift-bag with gifts inside.
  • Denim Bib (upcycled from some old jeans, and backed in matching striped fabric – inspired by this site).
  • Travel case to hold a few diapers & wipes (from this pattern — tried this one first but it failed miserably).
  • Crinkly Taggie Square (inspired by this pattern — has some crinkly plastic between the fabric layers which makes a fun noise, plus ribbons to grap onto).
