General 2006 Pictures: Lost Maples State Park

Lost Maples State Park is located somewhat near Medina, Texas - south of Kerrville. It's probably about a 2-hour drive from Austin. The park has what are called "Big Tooth Maples" -- not exactly the same as the maple trees found in colder climates, but close enough to remind you of autumn.
Here are a few pictures from our hike at Lost Maples in Fall of 2006. It was a little bit after their peak color, but nice nonetheless. Nothing like autumn in New England, certainly, but about as much color as you get in central Texas.
